“Always a good start when the concierge calls you a week before your arrival to find out what he can arrange in the way of restaurant or tour reservations. Otherwise, not much more to add to the many raves already posted about the spacious & immaculate rooms, lavish breakfasts and hit-the-spot afternoon wine and hors d’oeuvres. It’s definitely one of the prettiest and best maintained places we’ve ever stayed in. “My wife and I were on our way onto the plane when I received notification that our connecting flight had been canceled. We were not able to get back home that night so rather stay in another town we opted for another night in beautiful Charleston. Using TripAdvisor we decided to stay at the Wentworth Mansion since it was ranked excellent by many travelers. We agree! We were greeted at the door and the staff member was very friendly and helpful. He gave us a nice tour of the mansion and then showed us our room. What a great room! The fireplace added ambiance and the large bath tub was appointed such that one could luxuriate and enjoy the city view.
My wife and I stepped out (a quick note that King Street is only 10 min walk away) to buy a few clothing items (our luggage made it to the next city without us) and on our return back to the room there was a small black bag hanging on the door. The staff had gone out to purchase us deodorant, tooth brushes, and tooth paste knowing we lost our luggage! Now that is service! In the evening tasty appetizers from the 5 star restaurant were offered, wine was offered and night cap service was freely available in the parlor area. If you’re looking for a romantic getaway in a unique luxury accommodation this is a great option!“
